I’ve been job hunting lately (which is much more enjoyable when you’re not unemployed) and there is a tendency for some of the “cool” tech companies to make up pretty stupid sounding job requirements or position titles.  Ninjas should have swords, gurus should have inner peace, and rockstars should have guitars and drinking problems!  These are not people you necessarily want writing software for you!

This comic does have some of my favorite things… coffee, guitars, my girlfriend, nerdy developer stuff, and the binary code tattoo I’ve always wanted.

And so continues the series of comics I wrote while thinking about food.  But seriously, why clean the part of the plate that doesn’t touch the food!? It just seems wasteful.

I ended up taking a bunch of ridiculous pictures of myself holding plates to use as a reference while I was drawing this.  I’m sort of glad that nobody was home while I was working on this comic.

Again, sorry for the sparse update schedule.  I just haven’t been able to do much drawing lately.

Also, based on the last few comics, all I seem to be thinking about is food and dinosaurs.  I guess that seems about right.  I with that I really had that apron from the first panel.

I haven’t plugged my Facebook or Twitter accounts in a while so here we go.  I have a Facebook page and a Twitter page.  Get on it.

I do love pizza rolls.  Especially dipped in ranch.  Did you know that you can mix pizza rolls into mac and cheese?!  It’s amazing!

Anyway, that’s why I’ll probably die before I’m 30 (either from a heart attack or fatal mouth burns).

Seriously! This type of ground breaking finding would throw the humorous dinosaur t-shirt market on it’s head!  Plus this would give T-Rexs the ability to hug, which is what I’m sure is what they always wanted to do.

Wow I’ve been drawing a lot of comics about dinosaurs lately.  I’m going to give that Ryan North a run for his money!

Ok, sorry for all the missed updates.  I’ve been traveling a lot and I just haven’t been able to get comics finished.  I know it’s a bad excuse but it’s the only one I have.

I’m a pretty big fan of dinosaurs.  My personal website is called Dinosaurs Eat Everybody, the wifi network in my apartment is named “Rawr Im A Dinosaur”, and I have a T-Rex tattoo on my left arm.  It was hard for me to admit that this comic was 100% true.  If they were around today I would eat a brachiosaurus burger every chance I got.

Sorry for the missed week last week.  I was traveling and just couldn’t get my shit together in time.  I’ve been having some writers block lately so it’s been harder to come up with comics on a time crunch.

If I listened to the guy on the right (my left) more often I would have sold a startup to Google, proved P=NP, and finished tagging all my songs in iTunes by now!  But the other guy has such a cool beard! How can I not listen to him!?

So what do you think of the single panel format?  I’ve enjoyed drawing them the past few weeks.  I’m not sure if they’ll be a permanent thing, but I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of them.

I laughed way too much at this to still call myself a decent human being.

I also inked all the people in the background without sketching them first, which is kind of a big deal for me.  Inking anything other than what I’ve sketched makes me kind of nervous, but I think the background would have looked REALLY empty without them.

Well.  This got a little dark.  This comic actually came from two seperate discussions with my buddy Jeff Abell about going to the gym and buying a gun.  It seemed to me that he could solve both problems at once with a little creativity.

P.S. Sorry about the lack of comic last week.  I can’t really think of a good excuse other than just being busy.

I’m guessing that everybody who’s ever written code for any significant amount of time has done this.  At this point I just do it by force of habit.  Bonus points if the code is green text on a black screen.  That’s really scary!

The code used for this comic is actually part of a snippit of Python I wrote to pull all the categories from Yahoo! Answers (as part of a project for work).  I couldn’t find any good Yahoo! API for this so if anybody else needs this for any reason I put the script up on my Github account: YA Category Scraper.

Also! You may notice that the beer I’m drinking is the beer I just finished brewing (you can see the label here.) It’s finally done and it’s really cool to drink beer that you brewed yourself!

Finally, if anybody is going to try to point out some error with the code in the title, let’s just say its pseudo-code because I’m not sure what language I was thinking of when I wrote it.
